is now

To better serve our animal-loving community as we move into the future, we plan to expand our offering. And in the process, we thought a name change was in order is now

"Cuddly" is how we feel about animals and it's how animals make us feel. That being said, while there are many upcoming changes, our mission remains the same. We aim to help animals around the world live better lives through innovation, community, and kindness. Thank you for being a part of our movement and, now, the family.

Back surgery

  • Breed: Dachshund
  • Name: Daisy
  • Color: Tan
  • Size: Small
  • Sex: Female
  • Age: Adult

$700.00 raised of $3,000.00

Daisy came to Dakota Dachshund Rescue after she injured her back and her owners couldn't afford her surgery and felt that they could not keep her any longer as they have a one year old child at home. A downed dachshund and a tiny tot are not a good combination as the little one could fall on the dog and injure her more. Daisy needs surgery to relieve pressure on her spinal cord from ruptured disc material. This will hopefully help her to eventually walk again.

Daisy will need to stay in the hospital for up to a week and then we'll bring her home for some rehab and healing.

Can you help us with the cost of Daisy's surgery?

Updates

  • Daisy had her surgery, there was a lot of disc material compressing her spinal cord at L3L4. Dr Jeff took care of it for her and she is recovering from surgery nicely.

Unfortunately she still isn't going potty on her own yet and has no response in her back legs.

We will keep everyone updated on her progress.....we are determined she will walk again, we do know it will be a long road back.

    Keep Daisy in your prayers.

    Paws Up!
