is now

To better serve our animal-loving community as we move into the future, we plan to expand our offering. And in the process, we thought a name change was in order is now

"Cuddly" is how we feel about animals and it's how animals make us feel. That being said, while there are many upcoming changes, our mission remains the same. We aim to help animals around the world live better lives through innovation, community, and kindness. Thank you for being a part of our movement and, now, the family.

Kittens from Hoarding Case, Gunner, Tommy, Phoenix

  • Name: Gunner, Tommy, Phoenix, Peanut and Cricket
  • Age: Baby

$520.00 raised of $600.00

Gunner and 24 other kittens were rescued by WCSPCA from a hoarding case. Eleven unspayed females lived in the household and several litters of kittens were born within days of each other. Unfortunately not all the kittens were alive when the rescue happened. Gunner had the worst eye infection but all 24 kittens did have eye infections, some worse than others. All were malnourished and dehydrated. All the kittens were prescribed oral antibiotics as well as antibiotic eye drops by the veterinarian. They continue to receive a high quality food and much love and attention. No baby should have to start life with odds like this against them!! Being a small organization these babies have strained us financially during our usual peek kitten intake.  We are seeking any financial help no matter the size...every penny counts!!! With everyone on the same team "saving one paw at a time" these fur babies will have a bright future!

Updates

  • Hi friends! It's Tommy here, giving you an update on how I'm doing - I know so many of you have been following the story of me and my siblings... I had surgery last week and am doing GREAT!! The eye vet specialist has given me a fantastic prognosis for my future life. I just need a little bit more TLC and time here with my human friends at the WCSPCA and then I'll be ready to find my new forever home!  I just can't wait!

In the meantime, the shelter and all the kittens here with me could really use some help... We are in short supply and in need of Purina Kitten Chow. We also are getting low on adult cat pate, fancy feast kitten pate, unscented non-clumping litter, and paper towels. We would all greatly appreciate any donation you could send to us!!! Could you help? Any donation large or small makes such a difference in our lives...

  • Tommy will have his non functioning eye removed this Thursday. It will be better for him, health wise and cosmetically. Peanut had a follow up appointment with the eye specialist today and we are happy to say there was improvement but he will continue on with medication at a higher dose. He will have some permanent adhesions but they are not affecting his sight and they are not painful. The other two kittens, Phoenix and Cricket will continue on the meds. These four kittens have had a rough life so far. It will be a happy day when they are healthy and headed to their forever home.  To all of you who have donate and/or followed their journey, as well as our emotional roller coaster, we thank you! Together we have made a difference !  TTYL

  • As I told everyone yesterday, Tommy  was seen by the animal eye care specialist  as well as his other three siblings. The conclusion to the visit brought tears to our eyes. All four kittens have severe feline herpes infections with varying degrees of involvement. All are on antiviral meds. Tommy will need to have one of his eyes surgically removed.  They others we pray will not follow. What an ugly case this has been. The minimal cost of all this adds an additional $700+

  • The Good and the Bad

The good news:  Some of these kittens from this case have been adopted into their new homes.

The bad news:  Tommy and siblings have to see an eye care specialist this morning. Their eyes did not heal with the routine meds so they will be seen by the specialist, Luckily we got in on a cancellation !

  • Gunner is doing well and is scheduled to be neutered in the next couple days. He is a happy go lucky kitten and will be a super addition to someone’s family. We do still have one kitten in crisis but all the others are doing well. Tommy , the second worse in the hoarding case, is still having eye issues. He will be going to an animal eye specialist if he doesn’t have a miracle happen over the weekend. Although treated with the same medical plan as the others, this little guy just can’t seem to catch a break. On the bright side of this situation, we do have some healthy bouncing little kittens that will bring joy to your heart.

  • Gunner is almost there. He is an active kitten now, playing and climbing. He was very interested in the camera!

  • This is Tommy. He has improved  more on his second round of antibiotics.  He was the worse after Gunner with his eyes completely sealed shut with infection. We are not sure if one of his eyes will fully recover so he is able to see.  Time will tell.  He is a happy little guy though!!

  • Some of the kittens relapsed after their first round of antibiotics so today they were put on a “cocktail” of two antibiotics. We hope this does the trick. Poor babies. They are still so little. Thank you to all who are following their journey and supporting them in all ways!!!!!

  • We have had a wonderful response to our poundwish for these kittens. Some of them have been put on a new round of medication so we hope this will help them feel better. Thank you to EVERYONE. WE DONT KNOW WHAT WE WOULD DO IF YOU ALL WERE NOT THERE FOR THESE BABIES!!!!!  We make a great team!!!!

  • We have reached our goal thanks to a donor who hand delivered a check.  We are so grateful for that. However, we are still asking for donations because the cost turned out higher than we originally expected and their medications cost more than we anticipated. Thank you once again for all your support!!!!!!!!
