Wow, it has been a scary few days for Bruno Edgar, his foster family, and everyone at BHNW!
Tuesday night Bruno began vomiting, which was so severe and couldn't be stopped that he was rushed to the vet and eventually transferred to Seattle Veterinary Specialists. An ultrasound revealed a golf-ball-sized mass on his pylorus, that's between the stomach and small intestines. Poor Bruno went into emergency surgery first thing this morning. There was a very good chance that the doctors would get in there and discover a condition so grave that he would have to be euthanized during surgery. We are very happy to report, that didn't happen! The doctors were able to remove the mass and Bruno Edgar is now awake and doing well, although still drugged. He still has an NG tube and they are watching him closely as he starts to eat on his own again. We are hopeful that Bruno will get to go home to his amazing foster dad very soon. The mass has been sent off for lab testing. Our paws are crossed as we wait to hear the news if it was cancerous or not.
Please, PLEASE consider donating to Bruno's vet bills, as they total close to $7000!
