UPDATE: Brownies doctor called this evening and she said that his blood work is worse but not as bad as she expected. His protein levels are still critically low and this is where the probability for complications will come from. To attempt to help raise his protein levels they are going to try to put a tube up through his nose and administer 1 milliliter of food every 6 hours as long as he doesn’t vomit. If he starts to vomit they’ll have to back off. His red cell count is still dangerously low but his bone marrow seems to be holding his own.He is not out of the woods but he’s fighting and we will continue to fight for him, but we need help! Brownies medical bills continue to increase and unfortunately our funds do not! To us they all matter and we hope everyone else feels the same. Please help spread the word, and donate no amount is too small. We know Brownie wants to live, yesterday he was at what the vet called rock bottom and he made it through the night and all day he’s fighting. The part of this situation that continues to haunt me is when I was asked if we’d fight for him like one of our own dogs because he’s a rescue:( YES over and over again YES! They all matter to us and just because he’s a rescue baby doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve us to give him all we’ve got! So I’m begging for help, he needs to continue to be hospitalized and we need the funds to let him stay in the specialty ICU clinic. Please help us help sweet baby boy Brownie!
We received a phone call from someone who had a litter of puppies and they needed our help. They were feeding them outside when a large dog came and attacked the puppies. The couldn't afford their care so they surrendered the puppies to us. The little girl was injured and is unable to use her back legs, the little boy is very sick and is now fighting for his life at C-Vets hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. The little boys name is Brownie and has seen a vet locally three days in a row at $200.00 a visit, getting iv fluids and antibiotics. Today he took a turn for the worst and we had to take him to the emergency clinic where he was diagnosed with Parvo and transferred to a specialist. The little girls bills have come close to $1000.00 and we then have almost $600.00 for Brownie at our local vet, $116.90 at the emergency vet, and now the estimated costs are $1098.00-$3000.00 for life saving treatment. Our funds are just about depleted, from all of the special needs we have taken that others turn away. We can't save lives without help and right now Brownies life depends on the help of others! We are asking from the bottom of our hearts to find it in yours to help us save this sweet babies life.
