Poor Teddy-B is a giant, gentle 13 month old Malamute Husky living in Vietnam who quickly became a nuisance to his family once he started suffering from a spinal cord injury.
It prevented him from walking and caused him to become smelly from urinating on himself.
His family kicked him out to the curb in the hot Vietnamese summer sun and quickly replaced him with a new dog. Paws for Compassion was happy to come to his rescue just in time, before he was possibly stolen and sold to a dog meat restaurant.
Teddy-B spent 2 months in horrible pain with his injury, quickly losing muscle tone in his hind legs and becoming weak from a diet of just rice and bones. It was difficult for him to recover without the medical attention and nutrition he needed. He is now safe and rehabilitating at our PAWS Center with his new doggy friends. We had to shave him because of his very matted fur that was causing scabs and sores on his skin, as well as getting rid of the colored dye on his undercoat. We quickly discovered oozing abscess on his hips, indicating a bacterial infection. With antibiotics, therapy, good food, and love, Teddy is feeling more like himself. Unfortunately, we are not able to give him a proper diagnosis or treatment for his injury due to the lack of Veterinary care in Vietnam.
This majestic boy needs you to help him make his international adoption possible, so he can receive the veterinary care he deserves and a cooler climate fit for his thick coat. Please help us help Teddy-B by donating towards his campaign. Any amount, small or large, will make an immediate difference in his life.
Thank you for taking the time to read his story.
