is now

To better serve our animal-loving community as we move into the future, we plan to expand our offering. And in the process, we thought a name change was in order is now

"Cuddly" is how we feel about animals and it's how animals make us feel. That being said, while there are many upcoming changes, our mission remains the same. We aim to help animals around the world live better lives through innovation, community, and kindness. Thank you for being a part of our movement and, now, the family.

Dumped on The Streets With Mange & No Home

  • Name: BOY & GIRL Puppies Needing a Chain-Free Home
  • Age: Baby

$475.00 raised of $1,050.00

One woman on our team was stopped on her morning jog this morning on the 413 by a lovely lady who was trying to help these two dumped puppies.

We are working with our community to get Boy and Girl to the Vet this morning as they clearly have mange. More updates will come as we learn more but if all goes as planned they will be at the Vet today. The sooner they get meds in them, the better their chances are of survival and adoption.

We simply cannot do this without your financial donations.Thank you so very much. Love Boy & Girl <3

P.S. We understand puppies on chains is less than ideal. There are simply more unwanted dogs in Puerto Rico than there are homes. Also, with the heat of the Summer, American Airlines cancels many animal cargo flights while United is still not flying cargo animals due to their recent animal incidents. These poor dogs have a lot of obstacles in the way of them finding happiness. However, at least these 2 puppies are safe for now, and we will be reaching out to other groups and friends to work to find them homes off chains ASAP. Please do the same. The more working and sharing the better the chances for Boy & Girl.

  • sleeping together safely

To our surprise no one has wanted to adopt cream colored GIRL locally yet.  So we might end up having to fly her to the States.  But for now they are safe together in their rescuers car port.    They do get to come off chains and play outside but their rescuer is an older lady and unable to let them roam free 24 x 7 as they do live right on the busy 413 road.    Their rescuer wants to keep BOY and he continues to take his mange medicines.  Both puppies are also on parasite removal meds.   We do ask for Volunteers to help socialize dogs like this. Unfortunately July is an off Season in Rincon and no one has take us up on any volunteering offers to play with or do Vet runs for these 2 adorables that were dumped on the street.

  • We have lots of medicines they are taking FROM THE VET for mange and parasites

BOY(black) has a home.   GIRL(cream) is for adoption.    But for both puppies Defensa will fund all their Vet services (spay/neuter, vaccinations, fecal)  Please donate and share for BOY & GIRL dumped on the streets and getting the best care we can pull together in the current reality of unwanted street animals in Puerto Rico

  • The good the bad and the reality of the situation

These puppies will be okay, we have to repeat that often because otherwise you get lost in the current sad situation and stop helping!    We will not stop helping if you don't stop helping.   These puppies are not off their chains yet but we just meet with neighbors and volunteers and we have a game plan.   Our goal (and what seems to be coming together) is getting them in homes that can get them to our Vet and of course off the chains.  Please don't loose sight of the fact that they could be on the side of a highway in the brush of Puerto Rico with no hopes of being found or getting to the Vet.   We have to tell ourselves these things all the time too.   It can be a heavy burden seeing animal after animal that is unwanted in Puerto Rico!   We simply could not continue without Poundwishes and YOU!     These puppies are on a path to success with your shares and donations!
