Poor Anna Belle found herself all alone sitting at the shelter with an extensive hernia.
At only two years old and four pounds, little Anna Belle ended up at Palmdale Animal Shelter completely terrified and on the verge of shutting down. The shelter noted that she had a hernia and was in need of rescue. We saw their plea and agreed to take her thinking she would have a simple hernia repair and be on her way to adoption.
Once we pulled her from the shelter, we immediately took her to the vet. When the doctors took a further look at her condition, they realized that her hernia was much more extensive. The doctor believes that her hernia was a result of a strong force on her diaphragm and someone most likely kicked her extremely hard to cause this. Because of this, the hernia repair surgery will not only be more complicated than originally thought, but much more expensive as well.
Although she is an extremely guarded and shy dog right now, we can only imagine what she has been through up to this point and do not blame her for her behavior whatsoever. With that said, we are hoping to raise enough funds to get Anna Belle the surgery she needs ASAP. Donations of any kind would be greatly appreciated and help this girl get on the road to health and happiness. Thank you!
