is now

To better serve our animal-loving community as we move into the future, we plan to expand our offering. And in the process, we thought a name change was in order is now

"Cuddly" is how we feel about animals and it's how animals make us feel. That being said, while there are many upcoming changes, our mission remains the same. We aim to help animals around the world live better lives through innovation, community, and kindness. Thank you for being a part of our movement and, now, the family.

Neglected for Years; Abandoned For Three Months

  • Breed: Bulldog
  • Name: Root Beer
  • Color: Brindle
  • Size: Medium
  • Sex: Female
  • Age: Adult

Root Beer is a sweet girl with a fabulous personality, although you wouldn't expect her to have such a sunny disposition with all that she has been through. Root Beer's owner went to jail... three months ago.

For the last three months, Root Beer has been living alone in an abandoned house with only an occasional visit from a family member who brought her food and made sure she had fresh water. She was given very poor quality food and no preventative care. When Tornado Alley Bulldog rescued her, they rushed her to the vet. Root Beer had so many fleas that they were crawling across her eyes. The vet's staff said they had never seen that many fleas before on one poor little dog.

Root Beer's skin has sores all over it from the flea bites and she is missing all of the hair on her tail. The fleas have caused an infection that will require her to have tail pocket surgery. Root Beer also has a severe laceration on her cornea, probably due to scratching at the fleas. She is on antibiotics for the skin infection and eye drops for the ulcer.

Please consider purchasing items from her wishlist that will help her during this tough time. Root Beer could use items like soothing shampoo, flea preventative, a comfy bed to curl up in after surgery, or even a cozy blanket.

Updates

  • Root Beer came through her spay with flying colors.  She is back at her foster home resting up.  However, she is still in need of tail pocket surgery and will have to have some slight palate work done.  The vet has discovered a heart arrhythmia and is cautious about keeping her under anesthesia too long at a time.  He feels it is safer to do short surgeries than to keep her under for hours at a time.
