Ginger was abandoned by her owner for no one knows how long, living under a trailer on vacant land in the rural area of AR. A neighbor discovered the dog one day, starving to death, had recently given birth to pups that could not be found, was bone with skin laid over and very weak, had no hair. The neighbor began to try and gain her trust and fed her and gave her water daily. She had to come a long distance to do this but did it for 4 months and finally Ginger was feeling better, had gained weight and hair was beginning to grow back. Ginger finally trusted her enough to let her load her up and bring her to the vet where a Stone County Humane Society volunteer met them to see what could be done for Ginger. She tested positive for heart worms, had an ear infection, conjunctivitis in her eyes, flea dermatitis and was covered in fleas, still missing hair on her back and face from flea bites. We are going to treat this sweet dog and try to give her a better life than what she has known in her 5 years on this earth so far. It will be a blessing to watch her flourish and become a beautiful, loving dog who will someday make a great pet for a person who will treat her with all the love and care she deserves. Please help SCHS with this sweet dog by donating what you can to help with her multiple medical problems.
