is now

To better serve our animal-loving community as we move into the future, we plan to expand our offering. And in the process, we thought a name change was in order is now

"Cuddly" is how we feel about animals and it's how animals make us feel. That being said, while there are many upcoming changes, our mission remains the same. We aim to help animals around the world live better lives through innovation, community, and kindness. Thank you for being a part of our movement and, now, the family.

A Better Life For Betsy

  • Name: Betsy
  • Color: Brown
  • Size: Large
  • Sex: Female
  • Age: Adult

$1,075.00 raised of $2,000.00

Betsy, who was old and sick with loose skin on her torso as a result of having countless litters over the years, was dumped by her family.

I assume her owner stopped caring about her anymore, maybe because of her age or condition. Clearly, Betsy has not had a good life.

Sadly, Betsy is also a medical mess. When we saw her in a video her shelter posted, she was eating and seemed to be very active. When she arrived to us in NY, she was weak and very sick.

Betsy is currently hospitalized because she has not eaten since Friday evening. She has many problems, almost too many to count.

Most pressing is a cancerous tumor in her mouth and Heartworm disease. Today, X-rays showed clear lungs and no abdominal masses which is awesome news. Depending on what type of cancer her tumor is or if it is somehow benign, we will be moving forward with an oncology and surgery consult.

Just her bloodwork, X-rays and hospitalization today cost the rescue about $1600.

Any amount towards Betsy's care is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Thank you !!!

  • Betsy saw the specialty surgeon this morning. He confirmed that the 3 tumors in her mouth need to be removed not just debulked. Unfortunately because there is bone involved a few small pieces of Betsy's jaw will need to be removed but the surgeon assured us it would not be a long term issue for her. Betsy also will need several teeth removed simply because they are rotting and diseased from lack of proper care. The surgeon also discovered a mammary tumor he would like to remove, along with the two large pendulous Fatty tumors that Betsy drags around. Once Betsy is done with her surgeries, we will explore the options for treating her Heartworm disease. This girl is a mess physically but she has an amazing spirit and is very loving !!! We will do whatever she needs.
