Look at Skyler's face!!! She looks like a totally different dog. Special thanks to Dr. Wilcox and his staff for taking good care of Skyler and saving her leg. As you can see, she is feeling much better and is able to get up and walk around and also resting comfortably at her foster home. Take a look at her updated photos!
To all of you that have donated to help her - we can't thank you enough! This is what your donations do! We would not be able to help them on our own. We are almost half way to having the full amount for her surgery and aftercare. Please share this plea for help on behalf of Skyler. Share how our community can come together and save homeless pets most in need!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!
Skyler is a gentle, laid-back 18 month old Lab/cattle dog mix whose life has taken a tragic twist. She came into the Conroe Animal Shelter with multiple breaks in her lower back leg.
X-rays showed that the only solution would be to have her leg amputated. After a visit to the vet, Dr. Wilcox, an orthopedist, told us that Skyler's leg could be saved with pins and wire.
If you could spend some time with her, you would see what an amazing girl she is. Skyler will be the ideal companion when she gets well enough to be adopted. She loves sleeping in the shade under the pergola. She is good with cats, kids and other dogs. She does not have an aggressive bone in her body, is submissive and lives for belly rubs and kisses. She is the sweetest dog ever, and she deserves the best life ever.
Would you find it in your heart to help Skyler become the happy, bouncy puppy she was meant to be. Can you help with her medical cost?
Thank you for sending prayers for sweet Skyler and for your gift of healing.
Please pass Skyler on to those who may want to help her, too.
