His teeth were filed down. His ears were cut off. His body was torn over and over again before the bites from before could even heal. Looking at Teddy today, we can't understand how he's still alive. But he is. And he's now fighting to stay that way.
Teddy should have been loved and cared for the moment he came into this world. But instead, he found himself in the hands of a dog-fighter who sought to use and exploit his body in the most horrendous and cruel degree. That dog-fighter used Teddy as bait. He stripped away all the parts on his body that he could use as defense and forced him to be attacked by others on a daily basis. After enduring this for months, Teddy's body degraded down and he became too weak to be used. Then and only then was he dumped.
He was found on a feeder road in North Houston, clinging to life, after his body was so torn up and decayed that he couldn't be used. There, on the side of the road, Teddy lay there as the bacteria from all his infected wounds slowly made its way into his body, starting a potentially life-threatening infection.
Luckily for Teddy though, he was discovered by a Good Samaritan and was taken to Harris County Pets where staff notified us and had us step in to help him. We rushed him to the ER where diagnostics were done and a high white blood cell count was found - the main indicator of an aggressive infection. We've been told that the next few days will be crucial for Teddy, so we are holding strong for him and approving anything and everything that his doctors recommend. Despite all this boy has been through, you can still see the love through his sad eyes. Teddy will need all the help he can get to get him back to health so please keep him in your thoughts and please consider donating towards his emergency care today. Thank you so much.

Teddy has shown all if use that he has a huge heart and just wants to enjoy life. Even after being tortured and experiencing so much pain, he is happy. He lives to wear his rubber ducky pajamas and play with his metal bowl.
His bite wounds have healed. Now we are battling issues with his right eye. The pressures in his eyeball are high from repeat skull and facial fractures. He has had multiple infections in his right eye.
Teddy is also heartworm positive and being treated for this.
Through it all, this goofy boy is the happiest dogs you will never meet. Her loves women, men, kids, and dogs!
Teddy Bear says thank you so much for all if your love and support!

Guess who tipped the scales at 66lbs today? Teddy has gained 18lbs since he left Harris County Pets almost 18 days ago! Isn't that incredible? He's come so far already in such a short time and there are a few reasons for that. One, he's so strong. Two, his medical teams are the BEST. And three, you guys. Your love and support are helping him blossom and we can't say thank you enough!
Thank you all for your love and support of this amazing guy! Stay tuned for more amazing updates on our boy!

Teddy remains at the vet, hoping he can leave with his foster soon. His wounds are slowly healing and his skin is looking better with daily hydrotherapy, cold laser treatments, and antibiotics. Teddy was able to be neuterd this week and get his mouth evaluated while under anesthesia. It appears he has an old jaw fractures that did not heal properly.
Overall his temperment is good. He is a happy boy who loves people and doggys!
Thank you so much for your continued support and love....Teddy says thank you.
