While the attack likely occurred sometime in the middle of the night, we are extremely thankful that he was discovered almost immediately. Still bleeding, Cromer was rushed to the ER and quickly taken into surgery; but after it was done, Rescuers were told by his vets that Cromer's wounds were severely contaminated, and he needed more surgery to remove the skin tissues inside his wounds before he was stitched up. But then, Cromer's health took a turn for the worse. The skin around the stitches holding his wound shut began to die – and at a lightning speed – and by the next morning, this sweet boy found himself back on the operating table. The second surgery went better than hoped, but with less healthy tissue to work with this time, the risk of more infection remained high.
Cromer is resilient and strong, and above all, a one-of-a-kind boy. He is such a lover, and his vet staff says he's been an amazing patient. His recovery journey will be long, and inevitably challenging. And while we don't know when exactly this sweet boy will be "fully healed," we DO know that his prognosis is improving every day. Unfortunately, as his days in receiving supportive care continue to climb, so does his hospital bill – which has already surpassed $2000. But sweet Cromer is fighting hard, and doing SO much better.
He is in the best of care with his Tri-County Pit Bull Rescue family, who are making sure he gets the medical attention, love, and patience he needs to heal. He is on the up according to veterinary professionals, and rescuers say that now that he's on the mend, this special boy is also goofier than ever. But hey – if we got all that extra love and yummy treats, we'd be over the moon too! Please keep this special boy in your thoughts and prayers, and if you are able to assist with Cromer's care, please consider donating to this fundraiser or sending him a special "get-well" item off his wishlist below. Thank you for your kindness and support!

This sweet boy is Cromer, who has become a gentle favorite among both two-legged and four-legged family at Tri-County Pit Bull Rescue. And because he is a gentleman beyond any standards, when Cromer was attacked by another dog, he was left severely injured. Poor Cromer was left suffering bite marks that covered his body, but it was this little guy's face got the worst of it. His precious 'snoot' was now mangled; the wound spanned the majority of the left side of his face, and pieces were left hanging.
