Introducing, the sweetest boy you'll read about today - Wyatt. A kind woman in the area of Tuscan had started feeding Wyatt and five others with everything she had and although she wasn't able to get them medical care, rescuers knew that these stray dogs wouldn't have survived without her - they would have starved in days. Wyatt, himself, was covered head to toe in mange. As you can see from his photos, his body had crusted over in the infection and various sores and scabs coated his flesh. There is no doubt in our minds that he has been living in this painful state for MONTHS.
What's also heartbreaking about all of this is that as rescuers coaxed him into their arms, he didn't hesitate. He wasn’t scared at all. Despite all the humans that failed him along the way, his tail wagged and he even gave them kisses. All he wanted was love - something he hadn't received in a long time. Rescuers loaded him in the front seat and just about cried as they watch him squirm uncomfortably. His skin/body was emitting a strong pungent odor and his crusty scabs were just falling all over the place. He was SO itchy. Doctors later diagnosed him with an array of issues, including Sarcoptic Mange. Diagnostics were also done to check for Valley Fever, Heartworm, etc, so rescuers are waiting to hear back about those.
As of today, Wyatt is settling in a safe place. He is so forgiving and shows such unconditional love. We will, of course, keep everyone updated on this sweet boy. He's going to need so much help. If you're able to donate towards his care today and help him recover, it would mean the world. Thank you so much for your kindness.

When rescuers stumbled upon a video of a severely ill dog, they could tell just by the way he walked that he was in pain. From there, they couldn't get the image of his infected body out of their heads - they knew they had to help him.
