Jamie is very intelligent 2 year old Lab/Shepherd mix that weighs approximately 70 lbs. Because he is a larger guy and a bit vocal, a few families looking to grow their family by 4 paws have been scared off. The truth is, Jamie is all talk. He is has been through a lot, causing him to be a little more sensitive to his surroundings than other dogs in the shelter also looking for furever homes.
Even though he's a bit mouthy, this sensitive boy really is a good dog who just hasn't found the right fit for a furever home yet. Jamie really needs a calm and loving family who will be there for him while he recovers from the tiny worms invading his heart. Unfortunately, because heartworm treatment is a long and painful process - it is best that Jamie starts his treatment once he is in an amazing home and no longer in the shelter so that he is comfortable.
Please consider letting Jamie join your family. Of course, only if you can provide him with all the belly rubs he desires (they're his favorite!). If it's not the right time, that's fine - a donation to get Jamie the medical care he can't live without would be greatly appreciated. Jamie also loves comfy beds and toys if you want to send him a gift from his wishlist. Thank you in advance for supporting this good boy!

This is Jamie, he's a handsome dog in desperate need of two things he has gone too long without: a loving family and life-saving heartworm treatment.
