Despite how sick and terrible he feels right now, somehow he is still spirited and loving. Eyes bright to see a friendly face, and eager to snuggle into your neck with warmth and affection. We know he's a fighter, our teeny warrior. J
iJmmy is so tiny and frail. His poor, fragile body is already struggling due to hydrocephalus and malnourishment, but now on top of it he's developed an upper respiratory infection. We have to pull out all the stops to ensure he powers through. By supporting Jimmy Neutron's care, it ensures that any time he seems to be fading or showing concerning symptoms, ABR can get him to a vet or specialist ASAP to help him stay strong through treatment. How Jimmy came to be with us isn't as important as what we're willing to do to keep him with us. Thank you for helping us save this fragile, yet mighty soul.

Jimmy Neutron was born with all odds stacked against him. He has a high-risk genetic condition called Hydrocephalus which is caused by an abnormal amount of cerebrospinal fluid in the skull. This can cause swelling in the brain and have dangerous side effects, if not properly treated in its early stages. Side effects of hydrocephalus, aside from clear neurological issues, can lead to difficulty eating and drinking and stunted growth, which means dogs like Jimmy are highly susceptible to developing other illnesses due to how fragile they are. Getting Jimmy the care he needs now is critical to his survival.
We welcomed Jimmy last night and quickly saw that we had our work cut out for us. He'd long been cast aside by his mother, and so he's dangerously underdeveloped and horribly underweight for 7 weeks old, the scale reading only ONE pound. This morning we rushed him to the emergency clinic upon finding he was shivering and sneezing with a very concerning nasal discharge. We feared he'd fade fast if we didn't act quickly and we're hopeful that with some antibiotics, and round-the-clock care, he can make it. But, this is still just the very start of his fight. Next will be neurologist consults and costly imaging to find the true extent of his condition and what we must do to give him the longest and most loving life possible.
Despite how sick and terrible he feels right now, somehow he is still spirited and loving. Eyes bright to see a friendly face, and eager to snuggle into your neck with warmth and affection. We know he's a fighter, our teeny warrior. J
