Meet Falkor, the newest baby to join the Animalluvurs Dream pack. When we received an urgent message (pictured above) - regarding a tiny dog brought in with his jaw hanging from his face - needless to say, we were mortified. But we also knew there was no time for that; all we could do was rush.

He's in incredibly rough shape and though his exact traumas are, and will likely always be a mystery, there are a few things about his past that are blatantly and heartbreakingly obvious. Namely the fact that Falkor's jaw was DANGLING, left severely broken in multiple areas – in addition to abrasions on his ventral chest, left medial front leg, and swelling of the left front leg. Beyond this, X-rays taken at the shelter also revealed no obvious fractures of the limbs or spine, but there is a fracture in his proximal tail/caudal vertebrae.

The incredible vets jumped into action to place an IV catheter and stabilize his jaw, as there are multiple fragments of the jaw that were unstable. Thankfully though, all went as well as we could've hoped and Falkor is now recovering with his wonderful foster parents, who are making amazing strides with getting him to eat, keeping him comfortable with lots of pain meds, and letting him rest. 

We know we've been sounding like a broken record lately, saying that we are far in the red with funds, but saying no to helping Falkor felt like letting the disgusting person who left him so hurt win. — And that just isn’t us. But his road to recovery is just beginning, and now more than ever, he needs (and very much deserves!), a village.

All dogs are perfect - but this precious 'lil sweetheart you see here is extra special. This handsome, exceptionally sweet boy has been put through some pretty unfathomable things, and there's absolutely no rhyme or reason as to why.
