10 Most Misunderstood Dog Breeds - #10 - Bullmastiff
This large breed was developed in the mid-1800s as a cross between the Old English Bulldog and English Mastiff. Bred to guard English estates and game preserves, they soon became known as the Gamekeeper's Night Dog. Bullmastiffs are known to be kind, intelligent, and loyal, rarely barking except as an alert, and are particularly well suited as family companions and protectors. While they require little in the way of maintenance, they are prone to several hereditary skeletal and lymphatic conditions.
