To celebrate the launch of CUDDLY, our team embarked on a movie outing to see the “bark”buster Dog Days; it was a bark full of laughs and tears (see what we just did there?). This cute canine film follows a group of interconnected people in Los Angeles who are brought together by their loveable fur companions. The pups in their lives have an impact on their careers, friendships, and romantic relationships in funny and unexpected ways.
With big name stars like Nina Dobrev, Vanessa Hudgens, Eva Longoria, Adam Pally, and Finn Wolfhard, we knew this movie was going to be, at the very least, fun. However, it was the pups that brought true joy to the film, making it relatable and sweet. Dog Days highlighted how each canine made an impact on her owner's life. Elizabeth (Dobrev) has her rescue dog, Sam, who was there with her during heartbreak and success. Tara (Hudgens) finds the sweetest helmet wearing Chihuahua, which leads her to volunteer at a local rescue called New Tricks Dog Rescue. Dax (Pally) winds up dog-sitting an energetic labradoodle for his sister, teaching him responsibility. Grace (Longoria) and her husband adopt a little girl, who falls in love with a lost dog Maybelle, a key force in uniting them as a family. And lastly, Tyler (Wolfhard) helps his elderly neighbor search for his missing pup -- Maybelle. Anyone who's ever been moved by an animal companion will easily find something to love in this shamelessly happy, defiantly sweet film that celebrates harmony among families, neighbors, and different generations.
There are so many things CUDDLY loves about Dog Days. For us, one of the most resonating storylines of the film is the struggle of keeping animal rescue New Tricks afloat. At CUDDLY, we help rescues everyday become more and more sustainable by helping to raise funds through fundraisers for animals' medical care, as well as transport, new initiatives, and new facility campaigns. As we have continually expanded, we have added new tools for rescues to ease some of their financial burdens. Now, rescues and shelters can come to CUDDLY to garner monetary donations, create wishlist registries, and earn a give-back percentage through adopter registries.
Dog Days couldn't have come at a better time. We left our team outing inspired by the movie -- to do our best to save more animals everyday. This upcoming Sunday, August 26th is National Dog Day. According to the National Dog Day Foundation, this day is dedicated to embracing the opportunity for all dogs to live a happy, safe, and abuse-free life.
Please support the cause and our mission by considering giving to a campaign through a wishlist purchase or donation. Additionally, if you are about to celebrate the birthday of your own animal or are about to adopt a pet, you can give back by creating your own registry. When you create a CUDDLY registry for your new fur-baby, 5% of all sales goes back to the rescue of your choice. In this way, you can do even MORE good. How amazing is that?
