Aside from the animals who die in shelters, rescuers deal with death a lot. Hubert, one of my seniors popped his clogs a.k.a. died yesterday. It sucks and I feel really sad today. Until I remind myself that in accepting death, we give more to life. I've rescued a few seniors over the years and something special happens to the hearts and homes that open to them. Like Hubert's foster mum, Tiffany. There's just a special joy in knowing the codgers will have a soft bed to lay their old bones on, and good soft food to gum with their three remaining teeth. You cannot hang on to life so you might as well let go. Choose your battles, right?
