"I walked around until I felt I couldn't possibly take another step. The holes in my paws were painful. The worms living inside me took my energy and made me feel weak. But this voice inside told me to keep walking, keep going, keep searching, keep breathing... and then I saw her: a human friend. She gently came over and gave me warmth. She somehow made me feel safe and took me home. And now, I know I can keep fighting."
This is the worst type of abuse we have ever seen. One of our fosters came home last night to find this poor girl roaming around the street in heartbreaking conditions. We think she was used for breeding and dog fighting and then dumped on the road.
Her foster family has decided to name her Prai. She has had blood work, heartworm test, was very anemic, and full of parasites. Prai only weighed 30 lbs (when she should of been around 50lbs), and needed a slow and steady weight gain as she recovered.
Thank you for all of those who supported Prai, we were able to raise $1,500 of Prai's $1,000 goal on CUDDLY. Prai had her follow up at the vet today (9/6/17). Wow, she went from a mere 30 pounds to 50.8!!!! She got all her shots updated and chest X-rays. We currently have her on a cycle of doxycycline for the start of her Heartworm treatments. She is doing absolutely amazing and is now a happy pup that loves to play and cuddle with her humans and other dogs. Her foster mom could not let her go, after all they had been through Prai was now apart of their family. She gets along well with her new pup sibling, is content, and thankful to have found a place to call home!
