Things have a very short life span in Bali meaning, the safe house now desperately needs maintenance.
Last year we built an extra undercover area for the dogs during rainy season (oh boy we have torrential rains here too & lots of flooding). Unfortunately the roof began to leak so we had to complete slight maintenance to fix it. We also built an extra external area to cover the front gate where a partition was put in place so the dogs didn't run straight out the door. Unfortunately, we need to reconstruct the whole thing again with better, long lasting materials. We have already started this project however, there are not enough funds to continue.
We need to transfer the terrible non saturating sand out of the safe house & put new sand in so we can grow grass for the dogs again.
We need to service the internal fences & kitchen dog door due to the dogs destroying it as well as we need to heighten some of the fences so the dogs can't jump over them.
We need to paint over some walls & water proof them to stop the mould from coming every few weeks.
We need to install rain covers to protect some of the areas for the dogs when it rains.
We need to service the washing machine or buy a new second hand one because it's broken down three times in the last year. The last one being about six months ago!
We need to buy a small second hand fridge to store medications for the dogs. The temperature & humidity here is a killer so all medications must be stored in a fridge.
Will you please help our puppers live a comfortable life at the safe house?
No donation is too small. We appreciate all help.
We promise to continue updating all the projects we complete as we go along.
Please don't forget about dogs in Bali. They suffer horrendously as well with abuse, neglect, over breeding, abandonment & the treacherous dog meat trade.

Great news!
The contract for the BS Safe House for Dogs (BSSHD) has been officially finalised for another year!
The dogs have a safe place where they live happily, safely & get looked after until they find their furever homes!
Here at the safe house, the dogs get to enjoy pack walks three times daily & live as if they're at their first stage or transition into a normal home. These dogs have come from severely neglected situations or have only ever known the cruel & harsh streets of Bali.
