This year has definitely been the year of boarding expenses and spaying/neutering parents. This is what we've seen as the biggest expenses for us. When we have a litter surrendered to us, we will always spay and neuter the parents in order to prevent future litters from happening. This can cost a pretty penny especially for larger breed dogs, plus there is no adoption fee covering that. It comes out of BDR's pocket.
In previous years, BDR has fronted thousands of dollars for extensive surgeries like ACL repairs, heart murmur surgeries, double entropion eye surgery, and other dogs' surgeries when their owners could not afford it. While it's incredibly expensive, we love doing things like this because it makes a difference in a dogs life that may not live or have that great of quality life otherwise.
With that said, we cannot knowingly take any serious medical cases at this point with the crippling debt that needs to be paid off, as it's not financially responsible. So by running this campaign, we hope to bring these costs down by gathering donations. That way we can get back to doing what we love best, saving dogs in need! Please help BDR get back on our feet and continue saving dogs lives by donating to this fundraiser or sending a gift off our wishlist!

Big Dawgs Rescue needs your help this summer! We are in desperate need of donations to help us continue saving lives throughout the rest of the year.
So far this year, BDR has rescued and adopted out over 50 dogs to their forever homes. We really hope to surpass last years adoption count which was over 80 dogs. However it's not a competition, it's about saving the lives of those in need so even if we only adopt out one dog that's still more than it was before and it means the world to that dog that was saved.
