A Good Samaritan took her in and searched diligently for her owner with no luck. She contacted Rescuers at Saving with Soul Pet Rescue to see if they could help and of course, they said, “yes!”
Precious is at least 14-years-old, so they were prepared for her to be a “hospice” foster – that is – she would live out the rest of her life in a loving foster home until her Rainbow Bridge time came. But, nope... Precious has made it clear THAT is not HER plan – she's not going toward any light anytime soon. She's a spunky little thing, but…
- This poor little dog is in HEAT. At 14+, she's still having heat cycles. Good grief!
- Turns out she is diabetic. What da' heck? This poor soul has been out on her own with diabetes?! How on Earth has she survived?!
- Precious has one rotten toof. One. Which may need to be removed.
Otherwise, she's in reasonably good shape. Her heart and lungs are strong and aside from some arthritis in her hind end, she gets around great. She does, um, leak a bit but we're hoping once the diabetes is under control that will subside.
We are asking for donations toward the ongoing care and treatment of her diabetes and to cover the cost of her dental surgery. We estimate that the cost of care (insulin, needles, special food, etc.) runs around $100/month for diabetic dogs (maybe $75 for her since she's so tiny!). And her dental will be around $500 once her health has stabilized.
Rescuers are honored to be able to care for her in her Golden Years, and are so thankful to you as their supporters for helping them with this care - we couldn't do it without you!! Donate to her diabetes care for a day which is about $4 or $100 for a whole month! Along with a much-needed wishlist item to make her Gold Years most memorable!

This sweet and tiny girl was found, yes FOUND wandering the streets of Crestview, Florida. She's just FOUR POUNDS, y'all! She was matted and covered in fleas, but just as happy as she could possibly be. Meet Precious!
