After this sweet family came into rescuers' care, the family seemed to be thriving. The puppies eyes were starting open and they were plump and fat. Mama seemed to be healthy too. All of the sudden one of the puppies crashed and was having a hard time breathing. Without hesitation, the foster rushed the puppy Mango the vet to get oxygen therapy and supportive care. Sadly, the puppy passed away within a few hours of arriving at the hospital. A day later, another puppy Stella began to lose body temperature and crash. She was rushed to the ER vet and thankfully seems to be doing okay back in foster care. After consulting with a few other rescues who have had a similar experience, it was determined that the puppies more than likely have CHV. This is a serious and often fatal viral disease in puppies, but with treatment, they have a chance for survival.
The remaining eight are continuing to fight for their lives, while rescuers keep their body temperatures above 95 degrees and administer medications.
Lovebug Rescue wants to give these sweet babies the fighting chance they deserve, but they cannot give that to them without your support. If you can, please consider donating to their life-saving treatment to give them a fighting chance. Thank you in advance for your generous love and support!

Lovebug Rescue recently took in a mama and her nine two-week-old puppies from a homeless person who was unable to care for them. However, what they didn't know was that these puppies were battling a very serious, often fatal disease called Canine Herpes Virus (CHV).
