Homeward Horse & Hound rescue seeks help in keeping their incredible mission alive helping hundreds of abused, neglected, senior horses, and farm animals and giving them the best sanctuary possible to live out the rest of their lives in.
The rescue team at Homeward Horse & Hound strives to educate the public, rescue, rehabilitate, and assist in finding homes for animals in need. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting local organizations in educating owners in potential abuse or neglect cases, and seizing neglected animals when deemed necessary. They primarily take in horses, but on rare occasions, they also take in other farm animals.
With their horses, they focus on getting them healthy, mentally and physically, before they begin evaluating for training. Rescuers recently started including equine sports massage therapy into their evaluations to make sure none of the horses have pain or sensitive spots prior to training. Seniors typically live out their lives here with them. With their other animals, they affectionately call their oddballs, most are available for adoption but a few that are older will sanctuary with them.
Rescuers have no paid employees, so all funds go directly towards the vetting, feeding, and care of the animals in their care. HH&HM roughly takes in about 8-15 horses with medical needs a year. It really depends on the year and what’s happening with law enforcement. They're a nonprofit that solely operates on donations, the rescue team asks their amazing donors and CUDDLY family if they can help keep this mission alive and continue helping hundreds of animals. With your help, we can make a difference. Thank you so much for your support. 💖 🐴
