Fortunately, a Good Samaritan found Precious just in time, right before the fireworks really began; and, after contacting us for help, got her to our vet's office for emergency treatment. She remains there in ISO, under doctors' supervision. She is, thankfully, stable, but after almost starving to death, she is understandably in pretty horrific condition. There are areas of Precious' legs that are bloodied and rubbed raw– a result of being kept cooped-up and confined in a small space. And aside from being incredibly malnourished, dehydrated, and underweight, Precious also needs immediate treatment for ticks, fleas, and parasites- and there's a creeping fear she's positive for Heartworm.
Right now, Precious really needs her Village. She is looking at months of treatments and recovery to build up her muscles; and though doctors have done some initial bloodwork, she is looking at many more diagnostic tests to help doctors determine the treatment needed. But today marks Precious' first real day of a new journey.- One that will lead her to her very own Forever. Please help us, help her get there. We will share updates as soon as we have them. Thank you so much, all.

This, right here, is the result of blatant and intentional neglect. This is the face of pure heartache and defeat– and a result of months of suffering. This, quite frankly, is unacceptable.
Precious is what SHOULD be a 40+ pound furbaby, who, up until just yesterday ago, was living day-in and day-out in agony. And the sad truth of the matter is that her suffering is largely due to the actions of the humans around her. She is only estimated to be around 10-12 weeks old—just a baby and yet, at some point, a cruel individual made the decision that her life simply "wasn't important" anymore. So they put her already-weak body in a cardboard box and dumped her outside of an apartment complex, leaving her to fend for herself. They didn't bother to leave any food or water, despite the Texas heat; the only things they left for Precious were the tattered collar she was wearing and an old dog bed inside the box.
