Maggie wandered the streets of Texas looking for help. Every step she took was extremely painful as the extremely hot pavement burned through her paws, and her raw flesh was scorched by the sun beating down on her. She had no clue where she was going, or where she would end up. She is almost completely blind and totally out of luck.
Someone came across her and knew that it was either rescue her or let her die. They took her in and began calling across town to see if anyone could help save her. We were on the receiving side of one of those calls, and we immediately jumped into action. We picked her up and brought her back with us.
Once in our care, we immediately took her to the vet. She was in horrible shape, her skin was raw and itchy- and she was opening old wounds with the violent scratching. Our vet let us know that it was more than a Mange problem, and she actually was suffering from a horrible yeast infection all over her skin. She is almost completely blind, but is smart enough to figure out her way around things- but there is nothing to be done for that.
For now, we will wait until she is a little more decompressed, and then we will begin medicated baths. She is on antibiotics and steroids to help with her skin as well.
Please help Maggie recover! Any amount you can donate to her campaigns allows us to make sure she receives all the treatments and care she needs! We want her to get back to her life, and enjoy the years she has ahead of her. Your generosity allows us to do that!
