a look back at {{ data.pet_details_extra.name }}'s story
We are calling on the amazing community of supporters to help us alleviate the ongoing space crisis at Palm Valley Animal Society.
Despite our recent foster and adoption efforts, we are currently housing the highest number of animals we’ve had all year- over 1200! The unfortunate reality is that we have more pets arriving in our care than are finding homes. Zero open kennels are available for the hundreds of new animals we expect to arrive at our facility over the next week.
Recently, we had an amazing adoption day with 17 dogs finding permanent homes. However, 13 more arrived in our care, and no real headway was made. And with kitten season upon us, and ringworm and parvo season immenent as well, we are headed into our toughest time of the year.
It truly takes a village to support this number of animals and save as many lives as possible. For those who can adopt or foster, we invite you down and for those without space or who are maybe a bit further out, we ask you to consider donating to help support our animals.
Right now, we are especially in need of bowls, so please give if you can 🙏

Two Ways to Give to {{ data.pet_details_extra.user.name }}
After the severe thunderstorm earlier this week, our Trenton Center took some damage with several trees falling over and damaged kennels and fences. All animals are safe and sound, though understandably a little bit shaken!
We would greatly appreciate any donations, so that we can keep our facility running smoothly and give our pups a little bit of comfort. We did not plan on this expense so funds will be tight for a bit - your donation can help us maintain our standard of care by helping lighten the load elsewhere.
The more food donated, the less we have to buy! The more crates sent our way, the more animals we can send to foster. Every little bit helps and we are so incredibly grateful!

Did you kow we have more than 400 dogs housed in outdoor kennels? Tarps help protect them from the elements like rain and cold wind and in the southernmost part of Texas, that usually gets the job done, keeping the dogs safe and comfortable.
What it doesn't account for though are unusual cold snaps where temperatures plummet - like the one we are expecting in the coming days and week.
With temperatures dropping, we are working overtime to find foster placement for as many dogs as possible, but also reinforce the shelter with additional items to keep those who don't find foster comfortable.
We have over 400 dogs in outdoor kennels that need protection from this freezing weather. Please help us keep them safe.
Below are what our kennels look like - a stark visual of the circumstances we are working to overcome.

The animals - as well as the staff and volunteers at Palm Valley Animal Society, couldn't be more grateful for the support shown to them by CUDDLY donors when they needed it most!
When we were essentially out of dog food, donors heard the call and answered it, in a major way. We now have several weeks of food, safe and sound in storage, ready to fill the bellies of the 900+ dogs we have currently in care. It will go quickly, but the reprieve it is providing us while we come up with a longer term plan to secure food is quite literally a lifeline.
Yesterday, at feeding time, our staff tore open bag after bag without worry of whether there was going to be enough. When you go through 1,000lbs. of food each day, that kind of freedom can be hard to come by, but CUDDLY donors made it possible.
These are just a few of the faces that say thank you for thinking of them 💙
This pup is crated just for meal time, since most of our dogs are co-housed and share a kennel.

The amount of support shown to the animals of Palm Valley Animal Society over one short weekend has been nothing short of astounding.
In just a few days, CUDDLY donors have donated enough food to feed our dogs for three weeks 🙏 a much needed buffer while the longer term issue of food supply is resolved.
Caring for 850 dogs each and every day - not to mention all our cats and other types of animals, can be a daunting task that, at times, can feel unwinnable. The kind of support sent to our organization from CUDDLY donors reminds us that we are not in this alone and that so many care and are willing to lend a hand.
We could not be more grateful and thank each and every one of you who have taken a moment to donate. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
