Pawsitive Sanctuary

We are a registered charity based in Amritsar, Punjab , in the USA and in Canada, with Canadian Founders. India is a country with over 50 million stray dogs out of which over 45,000 stray dogs are in Amritsar which is a small town in northern part of India. Dogs go through accidents, rapes, cruelty and a lot of physical abuse. Our motive is to treat sick injured dogs on road for free and to neuter and spay the dogs so that the population can be controlled. The dogs who cannot survive on the streets i.e. paralyzed, bind, tripods - we bring them to our shelter, and they become our family. Our shelter currently is a home for 347 dogs who are under ongoing treatment. Additionally, we neuter/spay 200-250 dogs a month and we plan to do it on a bigger level to make a real difference. We have no Government funding or any local support. We rely on the donations and work relentlessly to make the stray lives better and give them the love they deserve.
