Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation

The Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that focuses on the rescue of severely abused and neglected animals. Established in 2012, AHWF has sprouted from an independently run organization to a team that continues to go undercover to document abuse cases throughout the Greater Los Angeles area. Our work has evolved towards going into actual dog and cat slaughterhouses in remote locations throughout Asia. Dogs and cats are tortured for close to 72-hours in an effort to increase their adrenaline levels, adding supposed mystical properties and health benefits to the "tenderized" meat. In south Korea, dogs and cats are being tortured and ground up alive for the purpose of vitamin supplements. In Cambodia, while still living, dogs paws are being amputated to be used in a heal thing broth soup. Our founder has risked his life to go undercover as a wealthy American meat buyer documenting hours of footage that he hopes will be used as evidence to enforce better animal cruelty laws and protection measures for dogs and cats. Our organization provides refuge to those dogs and cats given to our founder by slaughterhouse owners, who are under the impression that he is taking the tortured animal home to slaughter and taste fresh meat for himself.
