Island of Misfits

Island of Misfits is a non profit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming unwanted, abandoned, neglected, and orphaned animals in our care. Our mission now is a simple one: rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome as many unwanted, abandoned, neglected, and orphaned animals as possible and to grow a coalition of volunteers to accomplish our goals and dreams. We have recently extended our mission to help our community obtain affordable spay and neuter. Our long-term goal is to have a fully staffed veterinary clinic that will offer no cost to low cost spays, neuters, and routine to advanced health care. Decreasing the pet population in the area will decrease the number of unwanted animals that end up neglected and abandoned. Along with a veterinarian clinic, we would also like to have our own shelter in order to ease the burden of our local shelter. We also dream of having a sanctuary on many acres of land for rescued pets, livestock, and rehabilitated wildlife. Our sanctuary would be home to many animals but would also be a place for education and recreation for families and visitors of Baldwin County.
