Journey Home Rescue Alliance

Since October 2021, shelters within South Carolina have been operating in crisis mode daily. Without reprieve, adult dogs and puppies have been coming in at an unprecedented rate. While an active participant in the animal welfare space daily, the need to form Journey Home Rescue Alliance was created. It's about strength in numbers, and that is what we aim to do to save lives facing euthanasia daily. Journey Home Rescue Alliance aims to bridge the gap between rural and under resourced South Carolina animal shelters and 501c3 rescues by providing transportation, medical support and/or solutions to end unnecessary euthanasia and help animals off urgent lists become safe due to the nationwide crisis in animal welfare. Together, we can champion our shelters to help them remain a No Kill facility within their No Kill communities. Even more so, we can champion their underdogs as the first to face euthanasia are typically owner surrenders and those who need medical treatment since so many of our shelters do not have veterinarians on staff. Until laws changes, laws are enforced and governments get more involved, shelters and shelter staff are drowning and need the help to help the voiceless. We aim to bridge the gap between rural and under resourced South Carolina animal shelters and 501c3 rescues by providing transportation, medical support and/or solutions to end unnecessary euthanasia and help animals off urgent lists become safe due to the nationwide crisis in animal welfare.
