Stray Hearts Animal Rescue, Inc.

Stray Hearts Animal Rescue, Inc., is a foster and rescued-based cat and dog rescue located in Eastern KY. Stray Hearts is composed of three women: Mary, president, transporter; Polly, adoption coordinator. We have three other foster homes that take in sick cats and dogs. Since 2015, we have rescued and rehomed about 5,000 animals. The need is enormous and never-ending. We are located in coal country with 40% poverty rate. Most pet owners cannot afford to spay or neuter their pets. Our area has a large overpopulation of puppies and kittens. Thru our partner rescues and thru adoptions, we are making a real difference for companion animal here. Thru our "Last Litter" program, owned female cats and dogs can now be altered at our rescue cost when an owner surrenders a litter. A stray dog is a rarity now. Citizens are calling us for help, and even picking up the animals themselves and then contacting us. They know the stray will get help from us, and don't hesitate to do what they can to help. We are a registered non-profit, and depend solely on donations of funds, food and supplies, to continue our work. We can't thank you enough for supporting our work. God bless you!
