Ace’s journey began with heartbreak. We got a call late one night about a puppy who had been abandoned on hot asphalt. When we reached him, his paw pads were burned raw from the blazing pavement, and every step he tried to take was agony. Mange had stripped his skin bare, leaving him raw, itchy, and in constant discomfort, and a bacterial infection was raging on top of it.

Ace needed help on every front at once. Our team started urgent burn care for his blistered pads, aggressive treatment for his mange, and antibiotics to fight the infection. We gave him cooling ozone baths and all the care his skin needed. He also got pain relief to carry him through those first days, when even standing hurt. His recovery wasn’t quick.
