Discarded Breeder Dog Hit By Car And Facing Euthanasia Survives Emergency Surgery And Finds Her Fore

Magnolia spent six years being used for breeding, then was discarded and left on the side of the road after being hit by a car. Without emergency surgery, she was facing euthanasia. Today, this sweet 6-year-old miniature poodle has a couch, plenty of toys, and a family of her very own. Here's the story of how you helped save her life.

When she was found injured and in excruciating pain, her surgery estimate came in at $4,500. We hadn’t planned for the expense, but we said yes to her anyway, knowing it was her only chance, and turned to this community. You stepped up for her, and fast.

The funds for Magnolia’s emergency surgery were raised, and she was no longer facing euthanasia. She headed to Louisiana to rest up, and the next day, she went into surgery wearing her little surgical outfit and soaking up all the love around her. Just days earlier, she had been lying on the side of the road with no future. Now she had an entire community behind her.

Her surgery went well, and our special girl was up and moving almost immediately. Seeing her take those first steps after everything she had endured felt like a true victory. Magnolia then began her recovery in medical foster care, where she rested, healed, and experienced something she probably never had before: gentle, consistent love. Her foster mom shared that Magnolia absolutely melts when her husband gives her affection, leaning in and closing her eyes. Her incision healed well, she stayed comfortable, and she amazed us every single day. In her honor, we also established The Magnolia Fund, an emergency medical fund that will help us say YES to the next dog facing euthanasia because of urgent veterinary needs.

And then came time for us to release her for adoption. Folks, this sweet girl went fast. The news we had been hoping for from the very beginning arrived instantly: Magnolia was getting ADOPTED! The girl who was once used, discarded, and left on the side of the road is now outside, full of personality, healing beautifully, and living in a home of her very own.

Magnolia’s name means hope, and because of you, that hope became real. You funded her life-saving surgery. You refused to scroll past her. You said yes to a little dog the world had already given up on. She made it through surgery, she made it through recovery, and now she gets to spend the rest of her life being exactly what she was always meant to be: loved. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being Magnolia’s miracle.
