Thanks To Your Support, This Pup Went From Dragging His Body For Food To A Home To Call His Own
October 30, 2026
Thanks to your donations through CUDDLY, this pup went from struggling to drag his body for food to a forever home. Sultan survived at a feeding spot until one day he showed up with both of his legs chopped off. For at least a month, he dragged himself across the ground just to reach meals, his wounds bleeding and untreated the entire time. When someone finally shared his story online, a good Samaritan reached out to us, and we knew we had to help.
Sultan arrived at the veterinary hospital needing to be stabilized before he could even withstand surgery, undergoing testing after surviving so long with catastrophic, untreated injuries. Once stable, he went into surgery, where his most severely damaged limb was fully amputated, while his second injured limb was carefully preserved in hopes he might one day be a candidate for a prosthetic. As he healed, his veterinary team began researching prosthetic options and what his future mobility might look like.
Through every step of his recovery, pain management, hospitalization, and extensive rehabilitation, Sultan never stopped reaching for connection, standing on his rear legs, pushing to move forward, and greeting every person who cared for him with trust instead of fear.
And then came the happiest update of all: Sultan didn’t just leave the hospital: he hopped straight into the arms of one of his own veterinary caregivers and found his forever home. Since then, he’s experienced one joyful first after another: his first family, his first vacation, the first time in a long while he didn’t have to drag his body for food.
Thanks to your support through CUDDLY, the dog who once knew only pain and neglect now knows nothing but love, safety, and endless adventure. Happy life, Sultan.
