42 dogs and puppies were sitting in overcrowded Texas shelters, many of them scheduled to be euthanized before the weekend. Today, almost every single one of them is sleeping in a home of their own.

These dogs came from a rural area overwhelmed by pet overpopulation, where high-kill shelters are forced to make heartbreaking decisions every day. Some had been abandoned and left to fend for themselves. Some had been surrendered by the very people they trusted. Others had endured abuse, neglect, parasites, and painful flea and tick infestations, and some had already fought their way through deadly parvovirus. Even the healthy puppies weren't guaranteed tomorrow. When we learned what was at stake, we said YES to an emergency transport, knowing we had just days to raise the funds to make it happen.

You answered that call. Thanks to your donations, wishlist gifts, and shares, an incredible transport team was able to bring these dogs to safety on August 16. By the time the mission was complete, 42 dogs and puppies had made it out of Texas. Once they arrived, they began receiving the veterinary exams, vaccinations, medications, parasite treatment, and nutritious food they needed to heal.

Then the happy endings started almost right away. Within days of arriving, 22 of them had already been adopted, and another 10 were settling into loving foster homes. Week after week, more families came forward, and more of these dogs traded uncertain futures for homes of their own.

Today, 37 of the 42 dogs have been adopted. The final five are safe and loved in foster homes while they wait for their perfect matches, and we know their families are out there, too.

None of this would have been possible without you. You donated when we took the leap. You sent food and supplies. You shared their stories. You helped cover their transport and care. Because this incredible community showed up, dogs who were once facing euthanasia have been given the chance to leave Texas behind and start brand new lives. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in them and carrying them all the way from rescue to second chances.
