Thanks to your donations through CUDDLY, this sweet boy can walk again! Angus was found collapsed in a flower bed with a broken pelvis. Every time he tried to stand, he fell back over. But today he is walking, jumping and curled up in a forever home of his own. 

Angus’s journey began with heartbreak. He was found lying helpless in a flower bed at an apartment complex. He tried again and again to get up, and every time he collapsed. We will never know how long he had been lying there alone and in agonizing pain before someone finally noticed him. It was the hardest possible time for us. It was the middle of kitten season, mamas and babies filled every bit of care we had, and we had very little money left. But seeing this gentle boy unable to lift himself off the ground broke our hearts. We could not leave him there. 

An X-ray showed why Angus couldn’t stand: his pelvis was broken. There was no quick fix. He needed weeks of strict confinement so his bones had a chance to heal, plus pain management and careful monitoring every step of the way.

Those weeks were long and uncertain. Angus only wanted to move, but he had to stay still, sore and completely dependent on us. Every day mattered, and we worried whether he would heal well enough to walk normally again. Through it all, Angus stayed patient and sweet and trusted us to see him through.

Then came a turning point. Angus got up and walked, and soon he was jumping! The cat who could barely use his back legs was getting around all on his own. He still leans a little to one side, but there’s nothing wrong with walking a little funny. It’s just part of what makes Angus, Angus. After Angus, got his neuter and vaccines, he was ready for adoption. 

Angus found a wonderful new moms who loves this wobbly cat. He settled in like he’d always belonged there. He plays with his toys, curls up on laps and sleeps in the bed with his new mom. We also recently learned how he got hurt. While Angus was living outside at a housing complex, a man kicked him, and that kick broke his pelvis. He went from a cat hurt by a person and left helpless in a flower bed… to a beloved companion napping on his mom’s lap. His transformation is nothing short of remarkable.
