Meet sixteen year old Queenie, our hospice foster sweetheart.
Queenie was surrendered to our rescue when her senior owner passed away and the family decided to take Queenie and her “sister” Lucy (8) to the shelter. Without any financial help, our rescue stepped in to save Queenie's life as we knew she was blind, deaf and incontinent, but she was not ready to give up.
After months of basic costs for special diet food, diapers and other normal care, we were hit with a major vet bill when Queenie started to lose weight fast and had to be hospitalized. The vets tried everything and ran all different tests but were unable to find the underlying cause of her extreme weight loss. At her age, most dogs do have kidney and liver issues, some heart issues and dental disease, but we are unsure of what exactly Queenie has that is causing her so much trouble.
Now, we need your help. $1700 is just this vet bill alone. Afterwards, we will still need to provide her with about $100 monthly for special care and food and diapers. This will take a large toll on our shelter, but Queenie is not ready to give up, so we will continue to stand by her.
We love to save senior dogs and we would really appreciate your financial support to help Queenie and many more dogs like her. Please consider donating to Queenie so we can help her be as happy and comfortable as possible.
