It's troubling to think of how many people saw Moon starving down to the point and limping in the road and yet, did nothing. How does one subject a living creature to such pain and helplessness?

When we were finally alerted to her existence and headed down to get her from the local shelter, Moon had already been waiting for help and care for a matter of months, if not years. Though she was in terrible shape, we know that it's a miracle in and of itself that she survived on her own for so long. Nevertheless, we scooped up her fragile body and rushed her to the local hospital where doctors immediately noted that she was severely dehydrated, crusty, and emaciated. Her body was caving in on itself because of lack of nutrition and her leg, which she couldn't put much weight on, have internal damage.

All of this and Moon is suspected to be only a few years old. One could only imagine the incredible pain she was in! At this time, Moon is with our doctors, undergoing testing and starting treatment like antibiotics, pain medication, joint care, and re-feeding. We are still waiting to hear the exact details but we know that Moon is going to need intense medical treatment to get better; with your help, her survival is possible though! Help her get the life she deserves-she has barely walked the Earth and already experienced such cruelty. Any kind donation will help her recovery immensely!
