F5RS (Frisky Ferrets, Fuzzies, & Feathered Friends Rescue & Sanctuary) is dedicated to the practice and promotion of the idea that life is guaranteed to all healthy, sick, injured, or behaviorally unsound animals where medical and/or behavioral intervention can provide quality of life. As a 501(c)(3), we rely solely on donations and we are in dire need of funds and supplies to continue our life-saving mission!
At our facility, each animal receives individual consideration, regardless of health, age, prior abuse or trauma, or feral status. We provide care and treatment for all animals as needed, including veterinary care, appropriate nutrition, exercise, clicker training, and socialization with people and other animals. One of our main focuses is spaying and neutering because not only does it prevent overpopulation and the risk of euthanasia but it also significantly adds to a rabbit’s life expectancy and benefits their general health and wellbeing!
Recently, F5RS was contacted about a heartbreaking situation with babies being born and too many being crammed in one cage. We took the two teen boys and eight babies, most of them female, to try and help stop more from being born. We have already had them vaccinated, but now they need to be spayed and neutered. This, plus the vaccines will cost the rescue $1,000! Additionally, during this time, we also took in a baby bunny that was involved in a court case. We have one baby left to neuter from the eight barn bunnies that were dumped during a January snowstorm and a female adult dumped in a park.
This being said, our medical fund is really low due to all our recent intakes! Whatever you are able to donate — whether it be a few dollars or some treats from our wishlist below — everything makes a difference and is so greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your support, you make what we do possible!
