Every year, more than 10 million animals die from abuse and neglect in the US alone. However, less than 1% of these cases are actually documented. Our mission is to be an advocate and protector for the 99% of abused dogs who are beaten, battered, dumped, and forgotten on a daily basis.
As a 501c3 nonprofit organization, Friends of Fido is committed to helping homeless dogs from the local pound and providing them with critical medical care, veterinary treatment, and spay/neuter programs that prepare them to transition into loving forever homes.
Most of the dogs at our local pound have had a horrible beginning in life. To prepare the dogs for a forever home we provide them with much needed vet care. We have provided heartworm treatment, repaired broken legs and treated severe medical illnesses which sometimes result in hospitalization. We are also provide training for adopted dogs to succeed in their new homes.
Our primary goal is to eliminate the need to euthanize homeless dogs and develop a network of supporters and volunteers to endorse our mission in support of our ultimate goal.
As a nonprofit organization, we rely solely on donations to fund our goal to get our pound pups healthy and into forever homes.
These poor dogs count on us. That's why we are desperately relying on our generous supporters to help raise enough money to continue saving thousands of sick, injured, and disabled dogs.
