This sweet 'lil man was brought into this world with the odds already stacked against him—born with severe deformities to one of his front legs. He is only 11 weeks old; just BARELY getting his start in Life and yet, already, he's been told he's 'not good enough.' – Not once, not twice…but again and again.
The ongoing neglect Charming's been forced to face is blatantly clear: He is alarmingly malnourished, with his little rubs jutting out like branches from a tree. Emotionally, he is understandably scared and very uncertain. And it was only after he'd suffered this neglect for weeks did he THEN find himself at the local animal shelter, where he was - like so many other special-needs babies - living on borrowed time.
Every minute at the shelter put this uniquely beautiful life closer to being euthanized—just because he was born with 3 'working' legs rather than 4. Which is something that, for obvious reasons, we just could not let happen. While being special-needs does have its own challenges, it does NOT mean that an innocent baby should lose his life.
So today (07/27), we went to the shelter to OFFICIALLY welcome this little tyke into the VPRP family!! - He's as sweet as can be and has already adapted to using his front right elbow to hobble around, though it is unknown just how long he'll be able to use it as he continues to grow. And he doesn't let ANYTHING slow him down: He may be little and he might look a bit different, but Charming has shown us that above all else, he is MIGHTY.
Charming is looking at surgery for his front leg (along with X-rays, bloodwork, etc.), and he is scheduled to see an Orthopedic Specialist this week to determine what can be done to give him the best quality of life. So please send some prayers and love to this precious boy and if you're able to donate just $5 towards his medical, it would be greatly appreciated. Charming deserves the world, and we're going to see to it that he gets it. Thank you so much, everyone.

In the wake of such daunting and uncertain times – when many of us are coming together, celebrating and cherishing the blessings we do have– it breaks our hearts to know that there are still some lives being treated like garbage. Lives like Charming's.
