Our partner team on the ground in South Korea is constantly working to save dogs from the booming dog meat trade. They recently set out to rescue 7 dogs from a dog meat farm in Icheon, and they were met with horror as they found HUNDREDS of dogs, of all ages, in dire conditions. The team managed to save 70 and banded together with other rescue organizations to clear the illegal meat farm.
Now safely housed and sheltered, many tested positive for Parvovirus, Heartworms, and other preventable but deadly diseases. Some have even given birth to new puppies (also battling Parvo)! While the team has worked tirelessly to save as many as possible, despite their best efforts half have died due to their illnesses. Many others are still fighting for their lives.
We have worked with our Korean team to re-home over a dozen of these dogs, but we need your help to continue rehoming more dogs and give them a chance at a new life!
While we continue to look for fosters and adopters for the pups who are healthy enough to make the trip to Los Angeles, we still need to cover costs for food, medication, and vet visits. There are still a number of dogs fighting for their lives and we intend to help rescue as many as possible! We are not sure how many we will take into our care yet, as it depends on how many survive and are healthy enough to make the trip. However, we are also working to financially support the organizations that have boots on the ground in South Korea, regardless of how many pups physically come into our care.
Every donation helps a dog in need! Thank you so much for your contribution!
