Regardless of how Darla looks, or what she is going through, she, like any other pup, deserves love. What Darla didn’t get from her ‘owner,’ she will now get from us, as we have committed to trying to rewrite her story, and show her that her life is worthy.
When she first arrived at the local shelter as a stray, she was entirely shut down. She was labeled as snappy because she was terrified and didn’t want to be touched. Staying much longer in this shelter when labeled as aggressive, could have easily led to her last breath. We are so glad we found her when we did.
Now out of the shelter and in a foster home with her foster brothers, Darla’s personality is coming out and she is the sweetest pup in the world! It’s amazing what a little love can do. Darla will be spayed and have surgery for her cherry eye as soon as we can get the appointment scheduled. We ask that you please consider donating to her care, as we could really use the help! Your donations will help cover her vet bills and if you send an item from her wishlist, you will be helping her recover and showing her that humans can be kind.
Thank you for your generosity.
The bill attached is only one of her many bills. That being said, any excess funds will go directly to other pups in our care who are in need.

This poor baby’s eyes say it all, she has lost all hope. Darla’s life began full of joy, presumably with a family of her own due to her being in good condition. Devastatingly, at only a few months old, her luck ran out, and the people she trusted turned their backs on her. Why? We believe it is because of the way she looks.
Though it’s hard to fathom how anyone could dump a puppy for the way that she looks, it’s even harder to imagine given that her condition is entirely treatable. Darla has cherry eye, which is a prolapsed gland of the nictitans. It occurs after a tear gland in a dog's third eyelid becomes inflamed.
