We originally thought that there were 2-3 kittens still in her belly, but we were very wrong. This momma still had 5 babies inside of her! They were able to get them all out and resuscitate all of them.
Unfortunately they are in pretty poor condition. They are extremely small and underweight, and momma isn’t producing any milk so they will need to be bottle-fed.
Mommas first baby was born on the 9th and is a good 144g the c-section 5 we’re born on the 12th and are all between 60-70g.
We aren’t sure what the future holds for this family, all we DO know is that we will do whatever we can within our power to keep the kittens alive, and keep momma healthy. We are needing help covering the cost of the surgery and care for this new family, and we are asking that our rescue community please consider helping us to help them! Any amount you can donate, or wishlist item you can purchase is a huge help and we are very grateful!

This sweet momma came from a MASSIVE hoarding case. We are thankful this kitty didn’t get lost in the shuffle, as she came into the shelter VERY pregnant and was in active labor when she was dropped off.
We immediately tagged her for rescue and got her picked up and taken to a foster with her one baby. At her Health Certificate appointment it was revealed via ultrasound that there were 2-3 more babies in there. That vet said they were alive and she may still be in labor and could still very well have them naturally.
The next day she arrived to us in Colorado and we called our vet to tell them about her situation. They immediately said she needed to be rushed in for a C-section and so we got her to our vet and sent her off for surgery to hopefully save the kittens' lives.
