We rushed to the animal hospital, where doctors sadly confirmed our suspicions regarding his leg.- That the damage done was too extensive; there was no part that could be salvaged. Emergency amputation was our best (and really, only) option that could get Poe the healthy, pain-free life we promised we’d fight for, the second he and Binx joined the VPRP family.
Today Poe underwent an emergency amputation and is now recovering post-op under the round-the-clock care of his doctors. He will remain hospitalized for the next few days, on IV fluids, medication, and antibiotics to help rehydrate him and decrease the inflammation/swelling. Thankfully, he's got a pal to keep him company–as the amazing people at VECC are even letting Poe bunk with his sister while recovering in the hospital so neither will be alone!!
Please donate towards their medical care if you can. 🙏 Please help us help Poe and his sister Binx get the lives they so deserve. Any amount helps makes this a reality and is so appreciated, no amount is too small. Thank you so much.

This little baby was found with his sister, who stayed by his side after he was run over by a construction truck yesterday (10/19). His front leg was severed almost completely off, with part of it left dangling down. He'd already suffered pretty significant blood loss and was in a lot of pain, and there was a fear he'd also sustained internal damage from the trauma.
