Kabob’s heart broke a little more each day as he sat in the shelter, writing in the pain of his deteriorating body that needs emergency surgery to give him the pain-free mobility he deserves.
As kabob enters his golden years, he was left in the shelter sad and shut down. Sadly, his past remains a mystery, but what we do know is that his body was in shambles. His teeth were in need of complete repair and his body struggled to walk from the damage his hips have endured. Fortunately, Kabob is now in our care and we are working on restoring him to make sure his time as a senior is bright and beautiful!
As of now, Kabob had a dental completed 2 days ago and x-rays have also determined that he will require an FHO or femoral head ostectomy. This is a surgical procedure that aims to restore pain-free mobility to a diseased or damaged hip by removing the head and neck of the femur (the long leg bone or thighbone). This will allow him to regain normal movement once healed from surgery and is allowed to exercise. After this is completed, he will still require physical therapy following his surgery to ensure he is set up for long-term success with his new hip.
That said, we will keep you all updated on his progress, but until then, we ask that you please consider donating to his ongoing care, medical treatments, and upcoming procedures. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated and we thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity!
