As a Good Samaritan was going about their normal — or so they thought — morning, they came across a tiny, gray fluff ball in his carport! To their dismay, as they got a closer look, it was a precious little blue-eyed bunny! Covered from head to toe in fleas, filth, leaves, and feces, Frankie’s finder was astonished and confused about how this little bunny suddenly appeared there.
What was even more astonishing was as soon as his finder scooped up his fragile 3-pound-body, it became very apparent that Frankie was paralyzed! So, was this innocent little boy dumped nearby and sought shelter in the carport? We don’t know, but all we did know when we got the call was that he needed us and needed us fast!
As soon as we brought precious little Frankie BlueEyes home, we immediately gave him a warm washcloth bath and showered him with endless amounts of love. Our little warrior gobbled up his food in seconds and we have been switching from side to side so he doesn’t get sores on the side he was laying on. The good news is that Frankie was able to stand up on his own for a minute and after some light massages, this little cutie fell asleep!
The following morning, we visited the vet for X-rays and a thorough evaluation to get to the bottom of little Frankie’s ailments and to determine a treatment plan. Crazy enough, our little boy is a medical mystery…nothing is broken, but it is expected that he sustained some type of soft tissue trauma. Also, Frankie’s bladder isn’t emptying all the way so we will need to expel it. He received pain meds, a penicillin shot, antibiotics for now, and even started cold laser treatment. Our little warrior will head back to the vet in one week for a recheck, but as for now, we are monitoring him very closely.
At this time, we have no concrete diagnosis of our sweet little Frankie. He will be heading back to the vet next week, but we are hoping we start to see improvement in his mobility — especially from his laser therapy. In the meantime, please send all the healing thoughts to our precious Frankie and if you are able to donate to his ongoing care it would mean the world! Every dollar or supply adds up and makes a difference. Thank you so much for your kindness, and we will continue to keep you updated on our little warrior!
